Missions & Prayer

At First Alliance Church, we believe that every follower of Jesus should try to understand the heart of God, not just for lost and hurting people in our community, but for those all over the world.

Through our parent denomination, The Christian and Missionary Alliance, we are able to plug into the lives of missionaries and churches all over the world.  We regularly pray for the needs of the mission field.

We have several of our younger members preparing for overseas ministry, and we have recently taken short-term trips to Trujillo, Peru, Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso and Santiago, Dominican Republic. Learn more about how you can serve on a 7-10 day trip through Envision.

Every spring, we host an annual Missions Conference, where we caninteract with missionaries from different fields, learn how to better pray for them, and support them in different ways.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations ...” - MATTHEW 28:19

Our church family takes prayer very seriously.  We don’t just pray for God to bless our work.  We consider that prayer is our work, and possibly the most important one we perform!

In addition to our regular Wednesday night prayer meeting, we have significant opportunities for group prayer in our worship services, Bible Fellowship Groups, and Small Group meetings.  We also hold occasional all-church, mid-week prayer nights, where we suspend most of our regular ministries for the evening and get together to pray for particular needs in and out of the congregation.

Our worship service features a “Garden of Prayer,” a special time of worship when we invite anyone with a special need to come to the altar and pray while we’re singing, maybe alone, maybe with a friend, and maybe with one or more of our elders.  We’ve seen God touch the lives of many people with guidance, encouragement, and healing during this time.

If you’d like someone at the church to pray for you, we invite you to contact us.  Just e-mail the Senior Pastor or the church office.  We have a very active prayer chain, and a facebook page that is often overflowing with prayer requests and reports of how God is answering.
