There are lots of ways for both married and single adults to learn, grow, and serve at First Alliance.  We don’t expect people to be involved in all of them, but we offer several different opportunities for adults to grow closer to God and to one another.

We have several different Adult Bible Fellowship groups that meet every Sunday morning.  Some of them are more age-targeted, ranging from senior citizens all the way down to college and young adults.  Others are more like electives, where you can choose your own class depending on what topic interests you the most.   Some of our classes are more traditional studies of books or passages from the Bible; others are aimed more at life issues like marriage, parenting, or knowing God’s will.

Small Groups meet weekly, some at the church, and some in homes.  Some are single-sex; other are mixed.  These groups offer more of a chance to get to know people better, and to share the joys and pains of life as we pray for one another and study the Bible in a more relaxed atmosphere.

When they’re not causing trouble, our Senior Citizens travel all over the state together, seeing the sights and enjoying one another’s company.  They also get together with seniors from other churches for quarterly rallies.  This is one of the most active groups in the church honestly, we don’t know how they do it!

Our Men’s Ministry gives men the chance to get together for times of fun and learning.  There are two retreats annually, one in the North Carolina mountains with men from other churches, and one at the beach, which is just guys from FAC.  There are fellowship breakfasts where men get to share stories and catch up on each other’s lives.  There are also service projects, where the men do light construction, yard work, painting, etc., either for a member of the community or around the church property.

Our Great Commission Women group specializes in prayer for missionaries and community service.  Our women organize support for the children of missionaries and for missionaries who are headed back to the foreign field and need help getting their supplies together.  They also minister in various ways to our senior citizens and college students who are away from home.  Many of our ladies head to the mountains for an annual retreat which majors on spiritual growth and minors on pranks and mischief (at least that’s what we hear!).
