About Us

We hold to the basic beliefs of the Christian faith and try not to make too big a deal of side issues that might divide us.  We think it’s more important to work together to find the people that are lost without Jesus. We know we’re not perfect, but we also know that God wants to make us more perfect as we get to know Him better.

We know we don’t have all the anwers, but we know the One who does, and we trust Him to make His ways more clear to us as we learn from His Word.

The worship team assists in leading the congregation into the presence of the Lord each week during our Sunday morning worship services. The worship team consists of both vocalists and instrumentalists.  And with four different vocal teams taking their turn leading the service, there are a lot of people involved!   Our regular band consists of piano, drums, bass, acoustic guitar, and electric guitar.  However, we have been blessed with a variety of musicians and we’ll occasional incorporate violin, saxophone, flute, and others as available.  A basic level of musical proficiency is preferred, but you don’t have to be a pro; it’s more important that you love the Lord and are excited about leading others into His presence.

Whether it’s music, movement or other forms of artistic expression, individuals can use their gifts to serve during our Sunday services and special events.  Throughout the year, we will occasionally form various instrumental and vocal ensembles to provide people the opportunity to be a part of the special music ministry.  And from time to time we also put together a full adult choir for a cantata or special presentation.

At First Alliance, we’re not satisfied just to “do church.”  We want to be a real church family, and one that is always open to receive new people!

We don’t plan a lot of huge outreach events, because we prefer to share our faith in a more relational way, forming friendships with people who don’t know Christ personally and showing them his concern, even as we share the message of salvation — as the apostle Paul once said to one of the New Testament churches, “We were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well…”

Still, we do sponsor a large VBS ministry each summer, and we plan a series of fun events throughout the year, where new people can be introduced to our church in a fun and non-threatening way.  Some of our recent events have been an all-church picnic and game day at Dan Nicolas Park and a trip to see a minor league baseball game up in Winston-Salem.
